I hope you’re ready for an exciting summer of fun at Camp Henry! We have a great program in store for you on the beautiful shores of Lake Logan. For 50 years now, youth like yourself have enjoyed playing, learning, exploring, eating, sleeping, and worshiping in a fun, loving, safe, and nurturing community. Every year we try to keep the old traditions alive and throw in a few new ideas to spice things up. This summer campers, staff, and clergy will explore the story of Paul (Saul) as he journeys to Damascus hoping to expose followers of "the Way." While traveling that road, Paul experiences a conversion after having a divine encounter. Following this experience, Paul goes on to be one of the most influential cornerstones of the early church and even today has a significant impact of our understanding of Christianity. This summer, the "Damascus Road" story will be used as a vehicle to ask campers questions such as, "when have you had a life changing experience?" and "what were the lasting impacts of that experience?" Asking questions such as "when have you been blinded, only to regain your sight at a later time?" will hopefully encourage campers to explore their own "Damascus Road" journey and the impact it has, not only on themselves, but on others. What does it mean (for instance) to be followers of "The Way?" Join us this summer on the Road to Damascus...and see. Now to the business end of getting you to camp. So far, we’ve received your application and your deposit. Thank you! So now, along with this letter you will find the following information that you and your parents or guardians will need to review and complete: - The Camper's Health History Form
- Healthcare Recommendations Form to be completed by parent/guardian and a physician (you may instead send a copy of a physician signed medical form completed within the past 22 months if you so desire). It is required that all immunization dates be recorded on this form.
Important…. Attach a photocopy of your insurance card (Medicare/Medicaid if applicable), front and back, to the Health History form enclosed. - A "Consent to Participate" form to be signed by both you and by a parent or guardian.
- A “Community Covenant” form that also needs to be signed by both you and a parent or guardian.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: The completed Health History, Healthcare Recommendations, Consent to Participate, Community Covenant and the balance of registration fee should be mailed to the Lake Logan Camp Office at least 3 weeks prior to your arrival at camp. If the necessary forms and the tuition balance are not returned by this deadline, Camp Henry reserves the right to deny a camper enrollment and retain the $150.00 registration deposit. Camp registration will be from 3:00pm – 5:00pm on the Sunday that begins your week of Camp. Registration for Mini Camp will be from 3:00pm – 5:00pm on Wednesday, July 7th. Please arrive no earlier than 3:00pm. And if you find you are going to arrive after 5:00 (or, perhaps, not at all) please call the camp phone at (828) 646-0272. Pick-up at the conclusion of camp is Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Please be on time. All medicines, non-prescription or prescription, will be collected at registration, held, and administered by the Camp Nurse. Canteen Don’t worry about it! It’s been included in the cost of the session. Every camper will receive a t-shirt, and a slideshow DVD with all of the pictures from that session. Camp merchandise such as hats, water bottles, bandannas, key chains, and etc. will be available for purchase on opening and closing days. Cabin group assignments will be available at registration. We will attempt to honor cabin requests made in advance but please know that this cannot be guaranteed. Remember that we only honor one cabin request per camper. Also, in the interest of fairness to all campers, we ask that No Care-packages be sent to campers. In the old days, the extraordinary amount of care-packages that some campers received, while other campers received none, promoted an unhealthy atmosphere of competition. Please inform family and friends of this policy and remind them not to send food, candy, gum, or other items in letters. If we receive a care package, we will either return it to sender or hold it until check-out at the end of the camp session and give it to the camper then. Thanks for your understanding. If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to call or email. Phone: (828) 646-0095 Email: camphenry@lakelogan.org See you at camp! Sincerely, Elizabeth B.
